Dr. Bambang Supriyanto is currently running responsibility as a Director General of Social Forestry and Environmental Partnership, Ministry of Environment and Forestry, Republic of Indonesia. He was convinced to play some important roles in Ministry of Forestry/Environment and Forestry i.e. Director of Planning Bureau; Director of Research and Development for Social Economic Forest Policy and Climate Change Center; Director of Utilization of Environmental Services of Conservation and Protected Forest; and Head of Gunung Halimun Salak National Park, Ministry of Forestry. He was highly educated and awarded a Master degree in Forest Policy and Planning and a PhD in Management of Land and Forestry and in University of Ghent-Belgium in 1992 and 1997 respectively. Furthermore, he obtained a Bachelor degree of Forestry Faculty at Bogor Agricultural UniversityIndonesia (1986). He participated in a post doctoral in Sloan School, Massachusetts Institute of Technology-United States of America (USA) on Green Economic: Prospect and Leadership Management (2015) under guidance Peter Senge and Otto Scharmer.
Dr Bambang Supriyanto was awarded for ‘The Satyalancana Wira Karya Award’, which is a token of appreciation issued to Indonesian citizens who have been very instrumental and devoted to the nation and state. This prize was awarded for his active role in accelerating the distribution of land access through policy innovation with the issuance of 19 Director-General Regulations and the development of the Social Forestry Information and Navigation System (so-called go KUPS), so that 4.42 million hectares have been distributed to 6,798 community groups for ecological improvement, reduction of social and economic conflicts.
